The programme is firmly based on knowledge of how young children learn. Activities and interactions are developmentally appropriate to the age of the children and respect the unique needs of the individual child. Play and concrete, relevant experiences are emphasised in developing cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills. This lays the groundwork for the smooth acquisition of more sophisticated skills such as reading, writing, mathematical and scientific reasoning as well as the social skills required to succeed in later schooling.
The day provides periods of quiet and active play, structured activities (such as arts & crafts, games, stories, music) and free play, indoor and outdoor physical activities, group activities, including outings and special events, as well as one-on-one interactions with adults.
Since children learn best through their own experiences, the environment is designed to be safe and supportive allowing children to explore. Our early years practitioners act as guides, providing a rich array of materials and activities. The focus is on creating a positive relationship with the child.
" A curriculum designed to develop all aspects of a child from the earliest age - social, emotional, intellectual and physical. "
