ELA Basel Philosophy

Our philosophy is based on our whole environment being set up in a way to encourage ever growing independence and a sense of responsibility. Our approach continues to be based on the belief that learning is both a social activity but also individual. Through the experiences we provide, children grow in confidence, self-esteem and independence. Alongside this we interweave the trusting and positive relationships between our practitioners, teachers, parents and children.

We believe that having a continuous programme that extends from the baby years to the junior range gives us the ability to shape a programme that meets the individual and developing needs of the child, providing the best educational opportunities exactly when they are needed.

Mission Statement

Developing global mindedness with integration into the Basel community, ELA Basel builds a strong foundation for learning and growth from the earliest age based on developing children‘s hearts, characters and minds.  For the children in both its Early Years care and in its Primary School, ELA Basel is committed to providing an excellent education through its British curricular framework.

ELA Basel cultivates the values of respect, integrity, compassion and intellectual independence and challenges children to learn with creativity and curiosity while fostering a sense of responsibility toward others both within the school and in the community. ELA Basel nurtures and educates children, shaping inspired and empowered citizens who embrace the diversity in others and the uniqueness in themselves.
